Background:
Project 00077357 - Pilot Project for Biodegradable Waste Management in Prespa Region.
Agriculture plays a significant role in the Prespa region in terms of employment and economic sustainability. Over 60% of the local population in Resen and the surrounding villages depends on agricultural activities, mainly apple production.
The studies suggested the establishment of a pilot central composting plant and a number of collection stations as a viable management solution for the biodegradable waste generated around the town of Resen and the village of Jankovec. The objective of this system is to substantially reduce the large amount of waste currently being discarded in the Prespa Lake Basin, transforming the biodegradable waste into products of intrinsic value - compost.
Objectives:
The objective of the assignment is a Business plan for managing the Pilot Composting Plant, which will represent a financial strategy by which the Public Communal Enterprise “Proleter” in Resen, the entity responsible for managing of the Pilot Composting Plant, shall plan all its future activities related to organization and implementation of the biodegradable waste management in Prespa.
In addition, the business plan shall also be utilised as a planning document for procurement of equipment for the plant.
Competencies
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills as well as ability to work in multi-cultural teams/environments are required.
Language Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of both written and oral English and Macedonian language.
Required Skills and Experience
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Economics. Modules (courses) in Environmental Economics and higher degree shall be
considered as an asset.
Professional Experience
- At least 8 years relevant experience in economics, finance and business planning. Knowledge/experience in the field of environmental
protection shall be considered as an asset.
- To have completed at least 2 similar assignments in the past.
