Background:

The Kosovo Small Arms Control Initiative (KOSSAC) is designed to support development of an integrated, comprehensive, and sustainable response to the problem of uncontrolled possession and proliferation of small arms and light weapons (SALW) in Kosovo. KOSSAC has assisted the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the capacity development of the Department of Public Safety, more specifically the Division for Weapons, Ammunition and Explosives and the Division for Private Security.

Objectives of Assignment:

This assignment is meant to provide support to the Department of Public Safety within the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the development, modification and pre-test of existing databases and their interfaces.

Competencies:

The incumbent will be a national database programmer with proven record in developing and modifying databases within a Windows environment (Specifically MS ACCESS, MS SQL and Net).

Core competences and areas of expertise are:

  - Good analytical and report writing skills;
  - Good communication  skills
 
Required Skills and Experience:

  • University Degree in IT
  • Minimum of 5 years professional/experience in database development
  • Proven experience within a MS environment.
  • Proven working experience in analysing existing databases and planning related modifications.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Albanian.

Duration of Initial Contract: 4 months
