Background

As part of the reform processes in area of social protection, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy introduced system of compulsory licensing for professionals working in areas of social protection. The management of licensing process has been delegated to Institute for Social Affairs (ISA) which in order to support the process has developed required curricula to contribute to the process of issuance and renewal licenses for professional employed in public institutions providing services in area of social protection. Current required curricula set consists of 6 core modules and 7 optional modules for in-service training for professionals in area of social protection work.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of UN Women project office in Skopje, the local consultant will be responsible for providing support to the international leading consultant and act as liaison between the latter, UN Women and ISA professional team. In particular, the local consultant is expected to provide to the international consultant all necessary information related to the system of social protection in the country, to assist him/her with logistical support in arranging missions, workshop and training events interlinked with the assignment and translate when necessary.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

    • University degree (MA or higher) in social protection work, development studies, gender studies or similar.

Experience:

    • A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in area of social protection, preferably social work;
    • Experience in development of training curriculum for public service providers, preferably in area of social protection work and/or
       gender equality / gender mainstreaming
    • Experience in delivering trainings for public service providers preferably in area of social protection, social work services with gender
       perspective; or in area of gender equality and mainstreaming with relevance to area of social protection
    • Experience with Adult learning cycle and participatory methods in trainings;
    • Familiarity with local context related to social protection work; including familiarity with reform process of licensing / standards for
       professionals working in areas of social protection
    • Experience on report writing in English ;
    • Experience on project coordination and logistics;
    • Demonstrated interest and/or experience in gender work, preferably in area of social protection;
    • Strong analytical, writing and communication skills in English;
    • Good computer skills in Windows environment, knowledge of internet communications and command of MS Office applications (Power
       Point, Word,).
