THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL MIRCOTEC INTERNATIONAL STUDENT CONFERENCE

Background:

The First International MircoTEC International Student Conference kicks off a series of activities and events providing interested students with access to career opportunities in microtechnology in the cluster of excellence “MicroTEC Südwest” (Southwest) in Germany. Top speakers from industry and science offer you insights into current topics in the world of microtechnology. Mobility, health care, smart systems integration and energy in the 21st century will all be topics of the conference’s scientific programme. Partners of the MicroTEC Südwest cluster will present state-of-the-art R&D results and microtechnology applications. A job fair with leading companies in the microtechnology area from the cluster region offer you direct contacts and networking opportunities for your professional career. Join the Science Presentation Competition and a Creativity Team Contest during the conference, both offering prices up to € 500 for the competition and up to € 1000 for the team contest.

The two-and-a-half day Post Conference Programme will give you the opportunity to learn more about the cluster microTEC Südwest (Southwest) and its members, as well as the region. The programme comprises site visits to renowned microtechnology companies and cutting-edge research institutions from the same field.

Eligibility:

The International Student Conference focuses on microtechnology and targets advanced students of engineering and science interested in microtechnology. The organizers would like to especially invite qualified students and engineers from Eastern Europe to apply.

Venue:

The First International MircoTEC International Student Conference will be held at IMTEK – Department of Microsystems Engineering, University of Freiburg i.Br., Germany, 8th – 14 th October 2012.

Costs:

Registration fee for the International Student Conference is € 90,00. The registration fee includes lunches, snacks and beverages in the breaks as well as conference materials and participation in the Post Conference Programme. Part of the costs (€ 40) may be refunded to those taking an active part in the conference by attending the Competition and /or the Creativity Team Contest.
