Background
Over the past several years, UNDP, together with UNICEF and UNECSO have been jointly implementing the UN Programme “Enhancing Inter-ethnic Dialogue and Collaboration.” The main goal of the project has been to enhance the inter-ethnic dialogue, while at the same time working upstream with the policy makers on integrating the relevant issues into the national agenda. One of the specific aims of the project has also been to work with youth on improving the social cohesion at local level.
Required Skills and Experience
Academic Qualifications
• University degree in relevant area (law or international law, public administration, political sciences, public management, economics or
similar). Advanced degree (M.A or PhD) will be considered an asset.
Professional Experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in working in the area of youth, inter-ethnic/community relations/civil society/national institutions or
other related areas;
• Experience in development, coordination, monitoring and overview of projects, development of youth policies, creation of methodologies
for research, analysis of research data;
• Knowledge of gender analysis/gender mainstreaming issues;
• Experience in similar assignments/projects will be considered an asset.
Expected Duration of Assignment : Approximately 45 working days in the period until end of August 2012
