Background:
The Mission of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Montenegro is to promote sustainable development which is economically viable, socially inclusive and environmentally friendly. Montenegro is moving towards membership of the European Union. This requires further strengthening of the country’s institutions, improving administrative capacities, and addressing issues of social exclusion in the country. Additional pressure has been put on Montenegro by the economic crisis, which is affecting the whole country, particularly the North. The aim is to continue to provide quality, flexible and impact oriented support that will contribute to creating strong and functional institutional framework, strengthening capacities in Montenegro to facilitate European integration process leading to improved quality of the life of citizens.

Required enrollment and qualifications:
Qualifications:
• Student of Journalism, Communications, International Relations, Visual Arts and Design, IT, Social Sciences or similar;
• Not have graduated prior to the beginning of the internship;
• Minimum of 8.0 grade point average on a 10.0 scale.
Skills:
• Experience in writing stories and using social media;
• Experience in translation of various documents from English to Montenegrin and vice-versa;
• Ability to think strategically, learn fast, express ideas clearly and concisely, work both independently and in teams;
• Ability to demonstrate self-confidence and sensitivity to gender and cultural diversity;
• Excellent knowledge of English and Montenegrin language;
• Excellent computer skills;
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills;
• Excellent organizational skills with developed attention to detail;
Duration of Internship Assignments:
• Internship assignments vary in length according to the availability and academic requirements of the intern, as well as the needs of UNDP.
However, they will normally last no less than six weeks and no more than six months. If an intern can prove that a nine-month internship
will grant him/her an educational credit for one full school year, the internship may be exceptionally granted for a maximum total duration
of nine months;
• Internship assignments are available on a part-time and full-time basis throughout the year, depending on the availability of meaningful
assignments and the needs and capacity of offices to receive and supervise interns.

Duration of Internship assignments: July 5 – September 25, 2012, with the possibility of extension
