EDBURGH CONSULTANTS/JUNIOR EXPERT ON MACROECONOMICS

Description:    

Reporting on macroeconomic and fiscal policies, financial markets and institutions and other relevant fields of economic criterion
The global objective of this contract is to enhance the Commission's knowledge and understanding of developments taking place in Albania the field of economic Copenhagen criterion that requires basically the existence of a functioning market economy and the capacity to cope with competitive pressure and market forces within the Union.

The specific objective of this framework contract is to produce monthly analytical reports on legislative, policy and institutional reforms/developments taking place in the macro-economics and fiscal policies, financial markets and institutions, human and physical capital, interplay of market forces, competitiveness. Such reports must also include information on the implementation of the relevant SAA provisions, the European Partnership priorities as well as relevant issues of concern defined in the document of Commission's Opinion for Albania, November 2010 and the 2011 EC Progress Report on Albania and the next EC Progress report- to be published in October 2012.

Requirements: One expert of Category Junior for 8 days /month for 12 months.

Profile required:

    - Degree in Macro-economics, or other degrees as appropriate to the areas covered by the Specific Objective, with at least 3 years of
      working experience in a relevant field;
    - Expertise or equivalent working experience in macroeconomic and fiscal policy analysis, financial markets and institutions, and internal
      market issues.
    - Candidates with a longer working experience would be advantaged.
    - Working language(s): The expert must be proficient in English and Albanian languages with proven strong drafting ability in English.
