USAID/SENIOR TECHNICAL SPECIALIST – VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Project description - The Youth Employability Skills (YES) Network and Macedonian partners work to: 1) Enhance the work readiness of VET graduates, of unemployed Employment Service Agency (ESA) registrants, and out-of-school, unregistered  unemployed youth;  2) Build and extend the capacity of VET schools, ESA offices, youth serving NGOs and Municipalities to provide services to job seekers 3) Improve dialogue about youth employability and unemployment through Social and Economic Councils and  4)Use existing and “legacy” structures and processes to accomplish the core aims of the initiative.  

Qualifications - This position requires educational achievement; excellent writing skills; demonstrable initiative, creativity, and flexibility; ability to work independently and effectively in groups; and strong interpersonal & organizational skills.

Specific requirements:

   - Subject specific technical expertise relevant to teachers professional development and to the enhancement of employability skills of
     secondary schools students
   - Knowledge of the structure and functioning Macedonian VET Education system
   - Proven management and team leadership skills
   - Excellent liaison, planning, scheduling and supervisory skills
   - Proficiency in Macedonian and English; Albanian language proficiency a plus
   - Capacity to work in multiple, widely scattered work sites
   - Experience working in international development projects preferred; on USAID funded projects a plus.  
   - Bachelor’s degree and 7–10 years related experience or Master’s degree and 5–7 years related experience, including a minimum of 5
     years hands-on technical project implementation and supervision experience
