UNDP/ ADMINISTRATIVE AND FINANCE ASSISTANT FOR THE LOCAL LEVEL RESPONSES TO THE YOUTH EMPLOYMENT CHALLENGE PROJECT

Background:

Youth unemployment, under-employment and informality impose heavy costs on the Albanian society and economy. Long unemployment spells early in life and extended periods in the informal economy affect the prospects of young people to secure a career job, a decent wage, their future and that of their families. High percentages of unemployed youth mean that investments in education and training are wasted, that there is a reduced taxation base and higher welfare costs.

Competencies:

  • Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously in a multi-cultural environment;
  • Strong teamwork, excellent relationship management, communication and analytic skills;
  • Full working knowledge of English and excellent drafting ability in the official’s mother tongue language.
  • Ability to produce rapid, accurate, stylistically appropriate and finished translation on employment related issues.
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as a member of a team and to work under pressure. Demonstrate responsible
    behaviour and attention to detail.
  • Interest in understanding the roles and values of the UN;

Required Skills and Experience:

• University degree in Economics/ Finance / Administrationor other relevant fields;
• 5 years of relevant experience in administration or project/programme support service;
• Previous experience with international organizations would be considered an asset
• Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.)

Special consideration:
 
   - As this position is under Service Contract modality, only citizens of Albania and those holding valid working permit
     in Albania will be considered for the vacancy.

Starting Date :  17 September  2012
Duration of Initial Contract : 1 year with possibility of extension
