Background:
Project Title: „Voice Youth Civic Engagement and Participation at Local Level”, „Strengthening Political Dialogue through the Parliamentary Inter-Community Relations Committee“ and other related projects/initiatives.
The UNDP office in Skopje, through its Governance Unit, has been working on improvement of the governance structures for a longer period of time, mainly through support of activities related to the decentralization process. Within that support framework, the Unit works on several dimensions, such as, improved social cohesion at local level; transparency and accountability and integrated local development through innovative service delivery tools and policy products related to the relevant issues.
Significant space within this framework currently belongs to two mutually reinforcing initiatives, namely, the projects “Youth as a Driver of Social Cohesion and Conflict Prevention through Local Action” and the project “Strengthening Political Dialogue through the Parliamentary Inter-Community Relations Committee”. Other related initiatives are planned to be implemented by the Unit as well.

Required Skills and Experience:
Education:
Secondary Education. University degree in social sciences, finance, economy, law, business administration, public administration, shall be considered a strong asset.
Professional experience:
• At least 5 years (3 years for candidates with University Degree) of professional experience in similar projects, with strong preference for
projects dealing with parliamentary and/or youth issues.
• Experience in research, analytical and reporting activities in similar projects, with strong preference for projects dealing with parliamentary
and/or youth issues will be a strong asset.
• Previous experience in project administration, logistical and financial operations.
• Previous experience in cooperation with the National Parliament and other national and local institutions, civil society organizations
(particularly youth) will be an asset.
• Previous experience in the UN system is an asset. Excellent computer literacy (MS Office; Windows XP, Internet); excellent communications,
report writing and analytical skills.
Language requirements:
Language proficiency is required in both written and oral English and Macedonian.
Knowledge of Albanian language and/or languages of other communities shall be considered an asset.
Expected Duration of Assignment: One year
