The Research for the benefit of SMEs endeavours to enhance the research and innovation capacities of European SMEs which have little or no research capacity themselves to turn innovative ideas into products and services with clear future market potential in line with the
aims of the Innovation Union. These specific measures are complemented by activities in the ‘Cooperation’ programme.
In total 105 topics in this work programme are dedicated in one way or another to SMEs, estimated to lead to around 20% of the total budget share. This includes SME-oriented topics, or topics generally encouraging industrial participants.
Eligibility
The call is open to participation from the Western Balkan countries which are associated to FP7 on the same conditions as EU Member States.
The EU Member States are:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom.
The Associated Countries are:
Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Faroe Islands, Macedonia, Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Montenegro, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland and Turkey
