Background
Although Rule of Law has clearly improved since the end of the conflict in 1999 in Kosovo, the performance of the judicial system remains weak, having various negative implications on access to justice, public trust in the judiciary, economic development and the European Integration process. Further support and strengthening of the judiciary in a strategic manner is thus needed with a particular focus on the judicial education in Kosovo. Increased support and commitment is needed to ensure the continuous education and knowledge building of practitioners in the justice sector and undertaking of activities which underscore the importance the sector puts on ensuring access to justice for all communities in Kosovo.
Responsibilities
- Management of the project, implementing activities by mobilizing goods and services, in accordance with UNDP POPP and UNDP
Kosovo
- Standard Operating Procedures
- Monitoring of progress and risks, ensuring that changes are controlled and problems addressed; Reporting on progress including
measures to address challenges and opportunities
- Support partnerships and advocacy activities at project level
- Ensure implementation of knowledge management activities
Requirements
- Master Degree or equivalent in law or social sciences fields
- Min 3 years of relevant of working experience in project/programme management or managing staff and operational systems, and/or
establishing relationships among international organization and local institutions/communities
- Fluency in oral and written English, as well Albanian and/or Serbian language.
Duration of Initial Contract: 12 months (with possibility if extension)
