Background
Although the Government of Albania has been successfully implementing important political, social and economic reforms and the percentage of Albanians living below the poverty line fell from 25, 4% in 2002 to 18, 5% in 2005, Roma and Egyptian (R&E) minority have been all but excluded from the benefits of economic expansion. Regardless of their recognition as minority, Roma and Egyptians are both marginalized and socially excluded communities. SSIREC Project, funded through a contribution agreement with European Commission, aims to further improve the social inclusion of most vulnerable communities consisting of Roma and Egyptians in Albania, with focus in the regions of Vlora, Korça, and Vlora.
Responsibilities
- Development of work plans, organization of trainings, preparation of narrative reports, preparing terms of reference for consultants and
subcontractors
- Provide technical guidance and resources to contracted consultants and/or organizations and monitor their activities with a view to
ensure quality deliverables
- Cooperate with government counterparts in the framework of this Project, particularly with representatives of Ministry of Labor, Social
- Affairs and Equal Opportunities and provide substantial support to work of Roma Technical Secretariat.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, social science, human rights, development studies or equivalent.
- At least 4 years of relevant professional work experience, in development projects targeting vulnerable Roma and Egyptian communities,
with significant involvement in the field of communication and / or public affairs.
