Background:
Serbia has adopted a comprehensive policy and normative framework focusing on the elimination of gender-based violence (GBV) in line with international standards. The effective measures to reduce and, eventually, end violence against women (VaW) and girls require an integrated response based on human rights standards, and close cooperation of all relevant actors. Through its actions to date, the Government of Serbia has demonstrated its firm commitment to reduce gender based violence, which disproportionately affects women and girls.
Purpose:
The purpose of the position is to coordinate the implementation and administration of the Project “Integrated Response to Violence against Women in Serbia” under the overall guidance of the Programme Officer.
Objective:
The objective of this position is to support results oriented, effective, efficient and accountable implementation of the project activities and achievement of project results.

Required Skills and Experience:
Education:
• Minimum Bachelors or equivalent in a relevant field (preferably related to political and/or social sciences, with specific focus
on gender equality and sexual and gender based violence); Master degree is an asset.
Work Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in a management position, preferably in international/multilateral development context
• Experience in managing teams and complex processes that included extensive communication, coordination and facilitation requirements
• Experience in partnership building at international, national, regional and local level;
• The following specific experiences will be considered as an asset: experience working in the UN system or other international organizations;
experience in managing projects in the field of gender-based violence.
Knowledge:
• Excellent understanding of Serbia's socio-economic situation;
• Understanding of current policies and legislation on violence against women.
• Knowledge in the use of computers and office software packages and handling of web based management systems.
Personal qualifications:
• Ability to organize and motivate team, deliver when working under pressure and within changing circumstances;
• Excellent writing/reporting and presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal, networking and team building skills;
Language:
• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken Serbian and English
Eligible criteria:
As this position is under Service Contract modality, only applications of applicants with Serbian nationality or valid working permit in Serbia will be considered for the vacancy.
Duration of Initial Contract: one year with possibility of extension
