Requirements:
- Master degree in international relations, law, sociology, gender studies, human rights, development
studies and/or other relevant social science areas.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of based work experience in the field of project management or relevant
experience in gender equality, women participation in local governance, women’s safety, interethnic
peace and community reconciliation, advocacy, or other related issues.
- Sound knowledge of results based management (RBM) and of the project cycle, especially in
monitoring and evaluation of projects.
- Language proficiency in both written and oral English and Albanian. Knowledge of Serbian will be
considered an asset.
- High computer literacy.
- Knowledge of key international human rights standards and frameworks, and in particular of UNSCR
1325 will be considered an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare review packages for each submitted proposal. Deadline for submission of proposals is
November 14, 2012. The review packages will consist of the applications, a check list of what
documents are included, a short summary of each proposal, and a capacity assessment.
- Conduct capacity assessments of applying organizations, based on standard UN Women form and in
close collaboration with project staff.
- Participate in the meeting of the Project Working Group and present to them the review packages.
The Project Working Group acts as an advisory group for the grants and will long-list the applications.
- Support project staff in monitoring the projects on a regular basis. This will be done by visiting the
selected project activities and meeting with organizations’ staff. The project staff and the part time
consultant will visit the projects in April 2013, and in July 2013 jointly with other members of the
Project Working Group. Other ad-hoc visits will be scheduled based on need.
- Collect data, as requested, from the field and provide field visit reports after each project visit. The
report should include information on the progress of the project implementation and identify any
possible challenges and other risks, as well as required steps to overcome these challenges.
- Support project staff in reviewing reports submitted by the grantees. All grantees will provide final
narrative and financial reports, including an audit report. Those with implementation period of six
months will provide one interim report. Those with implementation period over six months will
provide two interim reports.
- Assist the project staff in organizing a public seminar at the beginning of 2014, where grantees will
present the achievements of their respective projects.
