Tasks and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be under the direct supervision of the National Legal Officer within the Rule of Law and Human Rights Department and will perform the following duties:
- Assists the Project Manager in overseeing the drafting of the Manual;
- Gathers and assists in analysing practical information and necessary data on the issues reflected in the Manual;
- Assists in analysing trial related documents, including judgements, lawsuits, pleadings and other related documents;
- Provides written summaries of the drafting team's bi-weekly meetings;
- Contributes to the timely and effective implementation of the Project;
- Supports the Project Manager in all issues related to the publication process;
- Organises promotion events and training sessions for assistant advocates and advocates;
- Maintains liaison with the all relevant partners;
- Contributes to the project evaluation by organising data and information, prepares and maintains records and statistics;
- Assists in administrative tasks and other assignments related to the Project;
- Gathers and analyses information on events, including monitoring of trials, that have implications on the effective implementation of the project and reports to the National Legal Officer;
- Performs other project related duties as required.
Necessary Qualifications:
- Secondary education supplemented by specific studies in Law, preferably a member of the Chamber of Advocates;
- Minimum 4 years of comparable working experience, preferably at least two years’ experience in a central or local governmental institution or international organizations;
- Demonstrable translation and interpretation experience;
- Knowledge of project execution and monitoring;
- Familiarity with the domestic legal system, especially with regard to civil proceedings, as well as a good understanding of international law and fair trial standards. Albanian legislative process;
- Professional fluency in written and spoken English and Albanian, including drafting skills in English;
- Demonstrable strong analytical skills;
- Good organisational, communication, and legal drafting skills;
- Ability to operate Windows applications, including word processing and e-mail;
- Ability to work with people of different nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds, whilst maintaining impartiality and objectivity.
Remuneration Package:
According to the fixed OSCE salary scale, the monthly remuneration is approximately 781 EURO, subject to National Social Security deductions which currently are approximately 75 Euro per month.
