Introduction
Are you an amateur photographer, Balkan resident, with an eye for capturing how the EU can do better in the Balkans? If so, then this is the competition for you! "FLICK EU" is a project which gives unique opportunity for young people from the Balkans to artistically express their opinion on how the EU can do better in the Balkans. "FLICK EU" is a follow up activity of the 6th Leadership Development Programme that is for young people from SEE region, as well as from the rest of Europe, who aspire to play an active role in the future of their countries (www.seeyoungleaders.org).
Who can participate?
The call is open to amateur authors, residents of Balkan countries between the age of 18 and 30.
The work
- Only ONE photograph per author is permitted
- The photograph should be sent in a digital form, as an image file with minimum dimension 30*40cm at 300dpi, the file should not exceed
10MB
- The photograph should capture how the EU can do better in the Balkans
- Additionally, every applicant must send description of maximum 150 words why he/she finds the content of the picture connected with the
topic of the call, and one catchy short sentence that reflects the content of the photo
- Photo manipulations are not allowed in the competition. No techniques that add to, relocate, replace, or remove pictorial element, except
cropping, are permitted. Techniques that enhance the presentation of the photograph without changing the nature story of the pictorial
content are permitted. All adjustments must appear natural.
How to apply
- The call for photography is open from the 1st of October and will last until 30th of November 2011. Applications received after this will
not be considered. Please follow all instructions below:
- The photographs of the authors with text document are submitted via email: flickeu@gmail.com
- Use subject line: "Flick EU" and your name
- Attach only One photograph of your work
- The name of the image file must contain the name and the surname of the photographer without space between and capital letters (for
example: marijanikolova.jpg).
- By submitting you entry you guarantee that YOU are the author of the photograph
- Do not forget to attach the catchy short sentence that reflects the content of the photo and the maximum 150 words description. The text
should be in English and in Word 97-2003 Document, named just the same as the photography (for example: marijanikolova.doc).
- There is NO application fee
Selection process
The best 20 photos will be chosen by the LDP Alumni members, anonymously
What happens next?
- The best photo will receive an award of 300 euros
- The best 20 photos will be presented in a booklet. An exhibition with the best 20 photos will be organized for stakeholders and
beneficiaries at the EU Info Centre in Tirana, Albania, in the end of February
- The 20 successful applicants will be notified by email in mid-late January
- The organizers reserve the right to use the photos in printed material for the competition
