UNDP/ PROCUREMENT, DELIVERY AND INSTALMENT OF INTERNAL PARTITIONS AND OFFICE FURNITURE FOR THE NEW “UN ECO-BUILDING” IN PODGORICA

Background:

The UN Eco Building project was intended as a model for introducing the system of environment-friendly building conducive to sustainable development.
Sustainable development is one of the fundamental goals aspired by the UN, shared by Montenegro in its efforts to follow through the recommendations of developing as an environmental state. This project aims at setting benchmarks for future reduced energy consumption in the region.
The following design solutions are devised so as to minimise energy consumption, maximise performance and make full use of resources available:
   - Onsite ground water cooling
   - Onsite energy generation – photovoltaic panels used to generate electricity to cater for the needs of
     the whole building
   - Solar water heating
   - High thermal insulation values to limit energy losses
   - Application of shading devices and horizontal solar shading to reduce the effect of high temperatures
     and limit the need for air cooling
   - Selection of materials and structures in line with the environmental strategy and resources available
     in Montenegro.

Eligibility:

   - Previous experience on similar projects
   - Certified technology/Standards acquired
