Description:
UNDP, financially supported by SDC, has recently launched a project that will introduce a set of comprehensive measures to significantly improve the Lake’s overall health, strengthen its resilience, and ensure, in the long-run, control of the eutrophication processes.
The project is designed to provide critical support to the authorities in implementing the first ever Prespa Lake Watershed Management Plan (prepared in accordance to the EU Water Framework Directive principles), developed within the UNDP/GEF Prespa project.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring the appropriate technical implementation, management and evaluation of
the project
- Ensuring creation of strategic partnership and supporting implementation of the resource
mobilization strategy.
- Ensuring provision of top quality policy advice services to the Government and relevant ministries,
local authorities and other stakeholders, and facilitation of knowledge building and management.
Reqiurements:
- University degree in Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering,
Economics and other related field (Master degree is an asset).
- At least 4 years of relevant professional experience (2 years for the candidates with master degree)
in the area of energy, energy efficiency, climate change or similar
- At least 3 years of experience in management, monitoring and evaluation of development projects
(experience with a project of similar nature is strongly preferred).
- Evident experience in liaising and co-operating with government officials, scientific institutions, NGOs
and private sector;
- Excellent computer literacy (MS Office; Windows XP, Internet); excellent communications, report
writing and analytical skills.
- Language proficiency in both written and oral English and Macedonian. Knowledge of
Albanian language and/or languages of other communities shall be considered an asset.
