Description:
The School of Museum Studies is pleased to offer a number of part-fee bursaries for April 2013 entry to one of its distance learning Masters Degree programmes. The bursaries are open to new UK/EU and international (i.e., non-EU) applicants and are payable as a reduction of the course fee. Applicants must be able to commence their studies in April 2013. Distance learning students are encouraged to attend the optional Distance Learning Summer School each year to meet their fellow students and attend lectures, tutorials, study visits and seminars.
Study Subject:
The following bursaries are available for master’s programmes in Digital Heritage, Museum Studies, Interpretation, Representation and Heritage, Learning and Visitor Studies.
Value:
Masters in Digital Heritage
-1 x bursary open to UK/EU applicants only and worth 50% of course fee
-1 x bursary open to international (i.e., non-EU) applicants only and worth 50% of course fee
Masters in Museum Studies
-2 x bursaries open to UK/EU and international applicants and each worth £1,000
Masters in Interpretation, Representation, and Heritage
-2 x bursaries open to UK/EU and international applicants and each worth £1,000
Masters in Learning and Visitor Studies
-2 x bursaries open to UK/EU and international applicants and each worth £1,000
Eligibility:
- Applicants must have a first-class or second-class undergraduate degree (or an equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject or be able to
demonstrate considerable relevant work experience (minimum of five years).
- It is expected that applicants will have some relevant experience, either in a paid or voluntary capacity. “Relevant experience” is here
interpreted quite broadly and should relate to the course applied for, but would include work in museums, galleries, educational settings,
archives, sites of interpretation, and other heritage or culture locations.
- You passed one of these English language tests, at or above the grade stated (International applicants can read more about our English
language entry requirements.)
