Description

The company will be responsible for providing substantive technical assistance to the local waste management authorities (i.e. the Public Enterprise ‘Proleter’ and ultimately the Municipality of Resen) in operationalizing the pilot agricultural waste management systems in the Prespa Lake Watershed. The team of experts will provide all necessary support in overcoming all barriers to achieving fully functional waste management systems. This mentorship programme is intended to fill the gaps in the systems by providing capacity-development support in
waste management (particularly in regard to the logistics of waste collection and transport), composting technology and business planning. In addition, the expert team will be responsible for the design and implementation of campaigns and community outreach work necessary for introducing local communities to the systems

Responsibilities

   - Establishing optimal waste collection, transport and disposal of agrochemicals packaging and biodegradable waste
   - Introducing composting technology
   - Supporting the financial/economic sustainability of the systems
   - Cooperation and community awareness-raising

Requirements

The Company/Institution/professional NGO (domestic or international) shall have extensive experience of developing and implementing waste management and complex environmental projects. Experience of a minimum of four projects of a similar nature and degree of complexity is required. Preparation of complex waste management studies, design and implementation of waste management projects, as well as complex projects involving waste management components, will be considered relevant for the application. A list of projects must be submitted along with contact details for the reference check. Company experience in biodegradable waste management projects (composting) is also required. The scope of work requires an interdisciplinary team of skilled professionals with previous experience in similar projects/assignments. Team members must possess excellent relevant technical and communication skills in order to successfully complete the assignment.
