Responsibilities
- Assists in the development and implementation of the Mission's education policy
- Manages all education-related activities within the department and serves as an advisor for other Units/Departments in education matters
- In co-operation with the Programme Co-ordinator for Inter-ethnic Relations, assists the Office of the OSCE High Commissioner on
National Minorities in the drafting and updating of recommendations for the improvement of interethnic relations in the educational
system and ensure its implementation
- Establishes and maintains contact and co-operation with national and international stakeholders on aspects related to education in a
multi-ethnic environment
- Conducts research in field of education, including relevant national and international legislation
- Follows developments in the field of education and inter-ethnic relations through meetings with schools, universities, municipalities,
parents, students, teachers and other stakeholders, collects information and provides analyses
Requirements
- University degree in educational sciences, social sciences or related fields
- Experience in educational field at an international level, either educational planning and administration, public education, teacher
training, multi-lingual/ethnic teaching including curriculum harmonisation and teaching plans, or professional experience in a ministry of
education or a teachers union
- Proven project management experience, including planning, budgeting and evaluation techniques
- Professional fluency in the English language
