Background
Vodovod i Kanalizacija a.d. Bijeljina (the "Company"), supported by the Municipality of Bijeljina (the "City" or "Bijeljina"), Republika Srpska ("RS") and by the State of Bosnia and Herzegovina ("BiH") intends using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) for a project to construct wastewater facilities in the town of Bijeljina and reduce the health hazard for the town’s population. The proposed project, which has a total estimated cost of EUR 23 million equivalent. Contracts for construction of first phase of the WWTP, main secondary sewerage collector, water supply network and construction supervision have been or nearly to be committed. The following goods, works and services will be required:
- Construction of 6.5 km of the Primary Collector from the City to WWTP
- Construction of 7.6 km of the Main Secondary Sewerage Collector No 3
Eligibility
Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank's loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, of for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser's country.
