Ibsen Scholarships in Drama and Performing Arts in Norway

Norwegian Government is offering scholarship opportunity to eligible applicants in the fields of Drama and Performing Arts in Norway. The International Ibsen Scholarships were established by the Norwegian parliament in relation to the central government budget for the fiscal year of 2007. The amount of the scholarship provision is established by the Parliament. Scholarships are awarded to individuals, organizations or institutions. Scholarships are awarded innovative projects in the field of drama and performing arts and projects that act as incentives for critical discourse in regards to existential and society-related subject matters concerning Henrik Ibsen. Scholarship funds amount to NOK 1,000,000,- (approx. 135.000 Euro/180.000 US Dollars) will be awarded projects worldwide.Scholarships are applicable to individuals, organizations or institutions within the artistic and cultural community. The Ibsen Scholarships are awarded annually and the applications are subject to scrutiny by an appointed jury. The Ibsen Scholarships were initiated by the Norwegian government and will be handed out for the 6th time in 2013.Ibsen Awards has till now handed out 19 scholarships to projects in 15 different countries.
Eligibility & Criteria
- Scholarships are applicable to individuals, organizations or institutions within the artistic and cultural community.
- The Ibsen Scholarships are awarded annually and the applications are subject to scrutiny by an appointed jury.
- Applications must be written in English.
The winners of The Ibsen Scholarships 2013 will be presented at Skien International Ibsen Conference on September 18th and 19th in Skien, Norway.
