Background

Human Dynamics is a leading European provider of consulting services for the public sector with more than 120 projects implemented in 30 countries worldwide. Currently, Human Dynamics and its 300 experts and consultants advise more than 40 ministries and public/government agencies worldwide.
Project title:
Technical Assistance for Prevention of Domestic Violence Against Women.
Brief description: The overall objective of the current project is ensuring the respect of human rights among citizens based on gender equality and minimizing domestic violence incidents particularly against women.
The purpose of this project is to strengthen the capacity of the Gendarmerie in protection of human rights based on gender equality, particularly in the prevention of violence against women, and promoting reciprocal collaboration between the Gendarmerie and other national institutions for effective implementation of the law on violence against women.
 
Results to be achieved:

    Result 1 - Increased administrative capacity of Gendarmerie General Command in dealing with domestic violence incidents against women;
    Result 2 - Improved knowledge of the Gendarmerie personnel at all levels on domestic violence issues ensuring the effective protection of
    human rights with a service oriented-approach, with benefits for women and public in general;
    Result 3 - Enhanced cooperation between the Gendarmerie General Command and relevant institutions on domestic violence prevention,
    reporting, and service delivery and increased awareness among Gendarmerie personnel as well as public at large on violence against
    women issues.

 The project consists of 3 components:

    Component 1: Capacity Building
    Component 2: Training
    Component 3: Coordination/Awareness Raising

Commencement date of the project: July 2013
Duration of the assignment: 300 work days over 24 months


Eligibility

- University degree in social sciences including gender policy, women's studies, sociology, international development or minimum 15 years of
  professional experience in gender equality and prevention of violence against women policy formulation and implementation
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Full computer literacy
- At least 10 years of professional experience in the field of gender equality, women's rights, and prevention of violence against women as
  trainer
- Experience as trainer in at least two EU funded projects in gender related issues
- Experience in formulation, development, and implementation of interactive and participatory training modules, particularly ToT module, on
  women's rights, gender equality, gender based violence, or domestic violence prevention
- Experience in the development of questionnaires and survey materials in gender equality or gender based violence
- Previous work experience on gender issues in Turkey would be an asset
- At least one experience in the institutional gender mainstreaming activities.
