General Background of Project
The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is active in over 100 countries worldwide, in various stages of conflict, post conflict and development environment. It is the United Nations (UN’s) central resource for sustainable project management, sustainable infrastructure and sustainable procurement.
UNOPS is active in Serbia and presently supports implementation of several large programmes:
- European Partnership with Municipalities Programme – EU PROGRES – a multi donor programme, funded by the EU and the Swiss Government, with the co-funding from the Government of Serbia
- Sustainable Waste Management Initiative for a Healthier Tomorrow – SWIFT 2 (EU funded) and SWIFT 3 (Swedish International Development Agency - SIDA funded) as well as the EU Hospital Information Systems project (funded by the EU). In both UNOPS is the administrative agent for the World Health Organisation (WHO) and other UN Agencies (total value of projects is about seven million Euros)
- Livelihood Enhancement for the Most Vulnerable Roma Families in Belgrade, also funded by the EU, which will be coordinated with the overall Belvil Resettlement Action Plan implemented by the City of Belgrade, the Government of Serbia and its institutions, and in partnership with the Organisation for Security and Cooperation (OSCE)
- Improving Human Security for Vulnerable Communities in Southwest Serbia, a one-UN project, funded by the United Nations Trust Fund for Human Securit
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Secondary Education with relevant work experience. Knowledge of UNOPS or EU rules and procedures would be an asset.
Work Experience
- Five (5) years of experience of having worked in a similar function dealing with the general public and maintaining office administration databases and filing systems.
- Professional experiences with international organizations an asset.
- Fluency in English language
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
