INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE "GOOD GOVERNANCE IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES”

Description

The conference seeks to bring together social science researchers, scholars and policy-makers from the Western Balkans and international research institutions to present and discuss recent research findings related to good governance in transition and developing countries. Particular emphasis will be placed on interdisciplinary and applied research results aiming at in-depth discussions about the challenges faced and solutions adopted regarding all aspects of good governance in developing countries. All submissions will be peer-reviewed by the Board of Scientific Advisors, comprised of leading scholars from well-established research institutions – accepted papers for presentation will be published in the proceedings. This conference is enabled by Regional Research Promotion Programme (RRPP), financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

11. The impact of recent crisis on the developing/transition countries’ economies
12. Unemployment in developing/transition countries – the role of state and markets
13. Public sector management and quality of public service provisions: transparency and accountability
14. Policy development process in transition countries: representation, participation and deliberation
15. The diverse implications of the European Union instruments for economic and political reform
16. International donor coordination approach towards aid/ assistance for development
