NDI has conducted programs in Albania since 1991, working primarily with civil society and political parties to promote increased communication between political leaders and the public and greater transparency in political institutions. With funding from the National Endowment for Democracy, NDI currently works with politically active women to improve their advocacy and electoral skills and to advance their participation in politics.
