Duties and responsibilities
-Desk review of methodology currently utilized for collecting and analyzing sea water quality data as part of the
national sea monitoring programme;
-Desk review of the indicator factsheet for sea;
-Develop methodology on data processing and calculating of environmental indicators for sea, tailor made for Montenegro's
circumstances, which has to be in compliance
with the European Environment Agency (EEA) requirements. It should include creating statistical estimates for each combination
of station and year, and deriving the average
annual mean summer surface concentration of Chlorophyll-a based on the Mann-Kendall method;
-Showcasing functioning of developed methodology on processing and calculating of sea water quality data
-Desk review of methodology currently utilized for sea water quality monitoring conducted;
-Desk review of indicator factsheet for sea and methodology for data processing conducted Methodology

-Functioning of developed methodology showcased.
Required skills and experience
-An advanced degree in environmental management or relevant equivalent experience;
-Minimum 5 years of experience in the area of natural resource valuation, conservation, protection climate change
and management (Preferably in Eastern Europe and CIS);
-Excellent knowledge of the legislation for setting Environmental Indicators and their management;
-Excellent knowledge of EEA monitoring obligations and environmental indicators for sea and coasts;
-Previous experience of working in Montenegro or Europe and Balkan countries on environmental indicators
-Experience in strategic planning and evaluation;
-Capability to work effectively under deadline pressure and to take on a range of responsibilities;
-Experience in knowledge exchange and in conducting learning by doing exercises;
-Outstanding time-management, organizational and interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills;
-Fluency in written and spoken English language;
-Knowledge of local language (both spoken and written) will be an asset.
