Duties and responsibilities:
-Implementation the UNDP Kosovo Programme Action Plan
-Management of the inclusive local development portfolio in the UNDP Kosovo programme
-Creation and strengthening of strategic partnerships and implementation of the UNDP resource mobilization strategy
-Provision of top quality policy advisory services and facilitation of knowledge building, codification and dissemination
-Thorough analysis and research of the political, social and economic situation in Kosovo, particularly with regard to the
situation of households and communities, continuous analysis of the policies of Kosovo institutions and the implications
at micro-level, of the assistance provided by international organizations, and of emerging needs and changes in the external
environment.
-Preparation of substantive inputs to UN common analyses and reviews, UN common development planning
and monitoring, to UNDP programme documents and other strategic documents as necessary.
-Design and formulation of UNDP Kosovo programme and associated projects within the area of responsibility,
translating UNDP’s priorities into local interventions that benefit communities and households.
Coordination of implementation arrangements with the executing agencies.
Introduction of performance indicators/ success criteria, cost recovery, targets and milestones.
Initiation of a project, presentation of the project to PAC, entering project into Atlas (as required), determination of required revisions
-Design and supervise the implementation of project and outcome evaluations in the thematic area assigned.
-Participation in audit of NEX projects. Follow up on audit recommendations. All exceptions are timely reported.
-Aggregate reports that are regularly prepared on activities, outputs and outcomes. When necessary,
preparation of donor reports. On a regular basis, review and clearance of donor reports to meet the timetable of donor reporting.
Requeired skills and experience
-2 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in providing management and policy advisory services
-Master’s Degree or equivalent in development economics, social economics, microeconomics, local development
management or a similar field in the area of social sciences
-Fluency in English and either Albanian or Serbian languages
-Proven experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
-Experience in managing or overseeing projects dealing with the micro-economic dimensions
of development interventions (micro-finance, enterprise support services, formalization of work
and enterprises, value chain analysis, territorial development and promotion).
-Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, experience in handling
of web based management systems.
