Background
UNDP is a key partner to the Global Fund to fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) and is the UN agency assuming the role of Principal Recipient of GFATM grants in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In its role as Principal Recipient, UNDP BiH is responsible for the financial and programmatic management of the GFATM grant as well as for the procurement of health and non-health products. In all areas of implementation, it provides capacity development services to sub-recipients and implementing partners. The main goals of the Project are to: 1. Reach the target HIV/AIDS prevalence in BIH of <1% at the end of five years by scaling up HIV prevention in vulnerable populations. 2. Reduce stigma and discrimination against HIV/AIDS risk behavior populations. 3. Implement best practices in antiretroviral therapy, patient care, psychosocial support, and palliative care for PLWHA The goals will be achieved through five project activities, focused on prevention, care, support and treatment of people living with HIV/AIDS and creating a more supportive environment for those infected, affected and under increased risk of HIV transmission. In addition, prevention activities will take place in a number of other service delivery areas, including voluntary counseling and testing, youth education, and STI diagnosis and treatment. Under the overall supervision of Project manager and direct supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Expert, Micro Grant Project Assistant will be a member of the Global Fund Project Management Unit team and directly contribute to the monitoring and evaluation activities within “Scaling up Universal Access for Most at Risk Populations in Bosnia and Herzegovina” project for BiH.
Qualifications
- Secondary Education, University Degree in Business/Public Administration, Finance, or other relevant field is a strong advantage.
- Preference will be given to candidates with strong Monitoring and Evaluation skills.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience on working in administrating the projects and programmes;
- Working experience in monitoring of CSO/NGO sector;
- Thorough understanding of the political environment affecting experience in dealing with challenges of civil society sector;
- Advanced - knowledge of Microsoft Office software package
- Excellent speaking and writing skills both in English and the languages of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
