Background
The ILO is implementing a Technical Co-operation Project “IPA National Programme 2010 for Albania/Human Resources Development” for 24 months beginning 1 September 2011, financed by the European Commission. The overall objective of the Project is to have improved labour market functioning and quality of human capital by improving the capacity of labour market institutions, mainly the State Labour Inspectorate (SLI) and the National Employment Service (NES) and promoting employment by enhancing the employability of the Albanian workforce. The Project Assistant (PA) for Albania will work under the technical guidance and supervision of the Chief Technical Adviser in the execution, coordination, monitoring and reporting of ILO’s project “IPA National Programme 2010 for Albania/Human Resources Development”.
Eligibility
- Completion of secondary school education, supplemented by technical or university level courses in a field related to the work programme.
- Six years of related clerical and/or office experience, including record keeping and processing of information. Experience in the usage of
computers and office software packages.
- Knowledge of ILO, other UN Agencies procedures and EC rules is considered an advantage.
- Excellent English drafting skills and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English and Albanian.
Duties
- Assist in technical work, project implementation and monitoring.
- Analyse data for project development and research studies.
- Compile and maintain databases on selected subjects.
- Maintain and reconcile a variety of records and administrative files.
- Translate into the target language a full range of documents, reports, formal texts, manuscripts, official correspondence, publications and
other materials.
- Edit texts in the target language
- Process and examine project budget information and data
- Control the work accounts regarding allocations and expenditures
- Provide administrative support to meetings and seminars, etc.
