Background

UN Women’s project Advancing Women’s Economic and Social Rights in Serbia and Montenegro (WER) is being implemented in the period 2010–2013, with the financial support of the Government of the Kingdom of Norway. The goal of the project is to contribute to the elimination of gender-based discrimination at the labour market by providing support to key policy and service delivery institutions to mainstream gender in their policies, programs, operations and budgets and to develop informed policy measures. Project aims to strengthen the capacities of duty-bearers and rights-holders to implement international and national commitments to women’s economic rights. Key strategies include capacity development of duty-bearers and rights-holders and evidence-based advocacy. For that purpose UN Women is looking for a Consultant to provide programmatic assistance and support in implementation of the above activities and support UN Women project team in the process of monitoring and evaluation of the project.

Responsibilities

   - Provide programmatic and logistical support to the Project team for activities to be implemented under the Advancing Women’s Economic
     and Social Rights (WER) project in the period September-December 2013
   - Support the Team in the implementation of its annual work plan, including support to the process of collecting information and
     preparation of reports
   - Support the process of WER project final external evaluation

Requirements

   - A university degree in the areas of humanities, law, social sciences, economy, gender studies or similar
   - At least 1 year of work experience
   - Interest and/or experience in gender equality and human rights project and/or past cooperation with UN will be considered as an
     advantage
   - Fluency in English and Serbian
