Background

The Assistant Administrative/Programme Officer will cover the Administrative and Programming (Assistance related) work of the UNHCR in country operations where the post is situated. Direct supervision will be received from the Representative who defines the objectives and assignments to be performed and provides regular guidance and support to the incumbent.  The incumbent will also refer to UNHCR Manuals and relevant policy papers. The incumbent normally supervises some support staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

  - Advise staff in the office on personnel, financial administrative policies, procedures, rules and regulations in order to ensure compliance
    with UNHCR's financial rules and regulations, including staff rules and procedures;
  - Participate in negotiations and discussions with the partners concerning the planning and implementation of UNHCR assisted
    programmes;
  - Monitor and manage the day-to-day personnel, financial and administration operations of the office.

Required Skills and Experience


  - University degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance or other related fields;
  - Minimum 4 years of relevant professional job experience;
  - Knowledge and working experience of MSRP HR, Finance and EPM Budget applications.
  - Fluency in English and in Macedonian. Working knowledge of Albanian is an asset.
