OSCE MISSION TO BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA/ SENIOR HUMAN DIMENSION OFFICER/HEAD OF FIELD OFFICE

Responsibilities

   - Supervises the Heads of Field Offices (Brcko and Srebrenica) within his/her Area Of Responsibility (AoR) to ensure that activities implemented are consistent with the Human Dimension programme objectives
   - Ensures that the Department¿s resources are used effectively and efficiently to achieve the Human Dimension programme objectives
   - In co-operation with the Heads of Section in HDD, supports programme implementation through provision of mentoring and advice to the Heads of Field Office on programme policy and implementation and intervening directly with local counterparts where necessary
   - Liaises with governmental, non-governmental and international organisations active in sectors relevant to the Human Dimension Programme in the AoR to gather information and ensures appropriate field level co-ordination
   - Acquaints him/herself with local political and social conditions and proactively seeks information which might have an impact on the current implementation and future development of the Human Dimension Programme in his/her AoR and advises the Head Office accordingly
   - Provides timely and accurate advice to the Head Office and the field on all aspects relevant to the implementation and future planning of the programme


Requirements

   - University degree in Law, International Human Rights Law, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, or other human rights related areas
   - Minimum six years of relevant experience, including experience in project management in an international setting
   - Understanding of the strategic and regional issues related to human rights, education and good governance
   - Knowledge of the political structures and current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina
   - Excellent communication and analytical skills with proven capacity to formulate complex issues in simple terms
   - Professional fluency in oral and written English
