Background
The purpose of the position is to provide support services for the “Regional Support Facility for Improving the Capacity to Make Real Progress on Roma Inclusion” project, at the local level. Objective The purpose of the position is to provide support services for the “Regional Support Facility for Improving the Capacity to Make Real Progress on Roma Inclusion” project, at the local level. “The Regional support facility for improving the capacity to make real progress on Roma inclusion” project represents an umbrella project for Roma inclusion in the region. It establishes a regional support facility to provide national governments (central and local), civil society and other stakeholders with operational support to build capacity for Roma inclusion in Western Balkans countries. The initiative has three components: a) Supporting the national stakeholders in operationalizing the national Roma integration strategies so that they have their implementing infrastructure at central and local levels; b)Supporting the establishment of monitoring and evaluation frameworks, including data collection for results-oriented progress monitoring; c)Facilitating the exchange of experience, mutual learning from successes and failures and mainstreaming working approaches to Roma inclusion at the local level.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the implementation of project activities
- Providing assistance in preparing annual workplans and progress reports
- Providing assistance in preparation of monitoring and evaluation plan
- Providing support to management of the project in Atlas including project creation, revision and utilisation of funds
- Provides support in managing project finances in Atlas
- Drafting correspondence on project issues, as required
- Liaising with implementing agencies on project matters
- Assisting team members, experts and consultants on travel and logistics matters
- Establishing and maintaining filing system, incoming and outgoing correspondence etc
- Ensuring full compliance of activities with UNDP rules, regulations, and policies
Requirements
- Minimum Secondary Education preferably with specialization in business administration
- At least 3 years of experience in administrative office work
- Previous experience in governmental, international or non-governmental settings would be an asset
- Experience in organizational activities; evidence of ability to express ideas clearly
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web based management systems
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken Serbian and English
