Responsibilities


   - Review and collect data on global and European experiences and effective methods for secondary and vocational teaching programmes in organic farming
   - Review analysis report on organic agriculture education with emphasis on innovative and youth-attractive approaches (secondary education and vocational training) prepared by National Consultant in Organic Agriculture (NCOA)
   - Contribute to building of common understanding and consensus on approaches and modalities for introduction of innovative approaches to organic farming education in secondary agricultural schools
   - With the input and support by NCOA upgrade two curricula for secondary education related to organic farming and develop teaching manuals for teachers
   - In collaboration with NCOA prepare programme and implement training workshop on innovative approaches to secondary education in organic agriculture
   - Participate and act as a resource person in stakeholder validation workshop to discuss the draft NPCSOP and recommendations
   - Finalise and submit the curricula and teaching manuals
   - At the end of each mission prepare report with recommendations for immediate follow up, and final assignment report with recommendations for follow up by Government


Requirements

   - The consultant should have a degree in agriculture, economics, ecology, or related field
   - At least five years of teaching experience in organic agriculture and specific knowledge about EU secondary and vocational training programmes in the field of organic agriculture
   - Demonstrated technical skills in implementing development and training programmes in organic agriculture and related areas
   - Practical experience relevant to the assignment and good knowledge of farming issues in project area
   - Working knowledge of English
