Responsibilities
- Monitors, analyses and reports on the activities of justice institutions and on rule of law related developments in Albania
- Monitors, in particular by trial observation, and analyses the operation of the judiciary in light of applicable international fair trial
standards, identifies gaps in the domestic legislation and drafts respective recommendations
- Provides assistance, in close co-operation with the national and international stakeholders, to the Albanian authorities for the
implementation of recommendations
- Serves as project manager on legal matters, in particular in the area of the justice reform
- Analyses and comments on the draft legislation and policies
- Prepares or assists in the preparation of various documents, including internal and external reports, memos, briefing notes, talking points
and comments
- Establishes and maintains the close working relationships with international and national partners
Requirements
- Advanced degree in law
- Minimum of three years of experience, either as a judge, prosecutor, attorney or monitor
- Excellent analytical and legal drafting skills
- Experience in conducting research and analyse information on a wide range of legal issues
- Good organizational skills, with ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and process large amount of information
- Professional fluency in oral and written English
