MOBILE APPLICATION DEVELOPER

Background

UNDP Country Office Montenegro and Economy and Environment Cluster in particular work actively towards implementation of Tourism Master Plan 2007-2020, specifically development of nature based tourism in the northern Montenegro with a goal of facilitating a year-round tourism, connecting and expanding it from coastal to hinterland and rural areas, and providing a balance for the seasonal demand. Montenegro is well placed and endowed geographically, ecologically, historically, and culturally to provide unique recreational experiences in a natural setting on an environmentally sustainable trail system for nature based and outdoor tourism.  Within the cross border efforts with Croatia, UNDP CO Montenegro is beneficiary for the EU IPA CBC Development of ICT for Outdoor Destinations/DIOD project. DIOD project will mobilize the productive potential of the targeted project areas involved (coastal region of MNE and Dubrovnik-Neretva County) and contribute to their sustainable development.


Responsibilities

   - Application wireframes and description of all services that the applications will provide (December 10, 2013)
   - First functional tests with the data displayed within the applications (by December 20, 2013)
   - Full implementation of design within the applications (by December 25, 2013)
   - First release candidate for deployment (by January 15, 2014)
   - Final deployment of the applications (by January 31, 2014)
   - Workshop on effective use of ICT tools (by March 2014)
   - Final report with preliminarily usage results and recommendation (by May 2014).


Requirements

   - University degree in ICT, design, telecommunications or another similar discipline
   - At least 5 years of working with electronic platforms and/or programming
   - At least 1 year of registered developer accounts on Apple Store and Google play market
   - At least 2 applications developed with a total user base of at least 5000 people
   - Experience in development of location based services applications on both Android and iOS platforms with existing examples available on
     Google Play and/or Apple store
   - Knowledge of local language is requirement
