Description

Saferworld is an independent non-governmental organisation that works to prevent violent conflict and build safer lives. It works with civil society, governments and international organisations to encourage and support effective policies and practices through advocacy, research and policy development, and through supporting the actions of others. The Funding Officer will work closely with the Head of Funding to support the administration of Saferworld’s overall grant portfolio and the implementation of the funding strategy. Saferworld is looking for someone who can support the management of institutional grants and can contribute fundraising experience to the team.
Job Purpose:To support the funding team with the implementation of Saferworld’s fundraising strategy.


Requirements

   - A minimum of one year of fundraising experience and proven track record of success Knowledge.
    - Ability to demonstrate initiative and work well under pressure
   - Ability to plan and work within agreed timeframes for complex tasks
   - Meticulous attention to detail
   - Excellent written skills with the ability to produce concise and creative proposals
   - High standard of computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook)
   - Excellent written and spoken English
   - Ability to be an effective part of the fundraising team and contribute to improving its effectiveness across the organisation
   - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with staff based in different countries and cultural contexts
   - Ability to understand and generate budgets would be desirable



Responsibilities

   - Support the Funding team and the project teams in the development of proposals and reports in line with high quality standards required by institutional donors
   - Work with colleagues across the Funding team and the organisation to support the development of fundraising proposals
   - Work closely with the communications team to raise awareness of our work
