Description
Consultant Scope of Work - Improving Access to Family Planning through a Blended-sector Family Planning Advocacy Initiative. PROJECT GOAL: To develop an effective advocacy initiative that will leverage the power of the private sector to advance one of the most pressing development issues of our time: women’s access to family planning and reproductive health.
Requirements
- Qualifications: advanced degree in public health, communications, public policy or business administration (MBA); experience in communications and advocacy campaign development; knowledge of and facility with both the private and the development sectors is critical. Knowledge of family planning a plus.
- Skills: Ability to interview a broad range of stakeholders and synthesize findings, good people skills, well-honed analytical abilities.
- Expectations: the consultant will work closely with several UN Foundation staff members, particularly with our Women, Girls and Population , Public Affairs and Global Partnerships teams, and will observe the agreed upon confidentiality terms.
Responsibilities
The main goals for the assessment are to evaluate the potential for the private sector to address barriers to family planning access, and to determine what mechanisms would be most effective. The focus is companies outside of the contraceptives manufacturers – from a broad range of industries.
