Description
International Conference: Romania and Europe. Prospects for Development will be held on 22-24 May 2014 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The intention is to bring new strategic perspectives for the Romanian development cooperation, based on other EU countries and experiences. They will welcome comparative analyses between EU structures, strategies, challenges and different countries in transition. The Conference will be divided into four sections:
- EU Enlargement in the 21st Century
- Internals and Marginals in the EU
- Romania’s Road to EU
- EU’s Foreign Policy
Eligibility
The conference aims at reuniting EU and non-EU academics, researchers preparing a doctorate or having post-doctoral experience together with the international community of actors active in development cooperation: governmental actors, civil society, experts, local authorities, mass-media and the private sector, focusing on the creation of joint transnational activities and structural links with academic institutions in other countries; aiming at the production of research result that cannot be achieved through research activities within a national framework.
Costs
A fee of 50 EUR, which includes conference materials and coffee breaks, will apply. Speakers, invited guests and sponsors of the Conference are beneficiaries of a grant (covering local transport in Romania, accommodation, meals, field trips costs) and exempted from the Conference fee. In case of accepted papers with multiple authors only one of them will take the grant. For the rest of the authors who want to participate at the Conference, the participation fee is 50 EUR. Accompanying persons or persons without presentation who want to attend the Conference must pay the Conference fee.
