Background
The UN Women Sub-regional Office for South Eastern Europe is launching the second phase of the regional project titled “Promoting Gender Responsive Policies in South East Europe” in the period of 2013-2016. The project’s overall goal it to contribute to the implementation of gender equality commitments as enshrined in various international human rights documents including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, CEDAW, the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, EU Equality Directives, and national laws and strategies on gender equality in South East Europe (with particular focus on Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Macedonia and Republic of Moldova).
Responsibilities
- Develop an annual work plan and performance monitoring plan for project activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and ensure links with UN
Women’s commitment under UNDAF and UN Women Strategic Plan
- Coordinate the implementation of relevant project activities with current and potential partners, consultants and stakeholders
- Undertake and systematically document monitoring of activities towards achieving the result as formulated in the Project Document
- Prepare complete documentation necessary for signing contracts and MoUs with the partners, individual and other service providers
- Manage the activities’ financial resources in accordance with UN Women/UNDP rules and regulations
Requirements
- University degree in gender, development, public policy, social studies or closely related field. Masters degree in those areas would be
considered an asset
- In-depth knowledge of gender gaps, gender inequalities and status of women in the country
- Experience with Gender Responsive Budgeting and Gender mainstreaming is an asset
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience. Previous experience working with international organizations as well as gender
equality issues would be considered an asset
- Demonstrated experience in programme/project design and management
