Background

The UN Women Sub-regional Office for South Eastern Europe is launching the second phase of the regional project titled “Promoting Gender Responsive Policies in South East Europe” in the period of 2013-2016. The project’s overall goal is to contribute to the implementation of gender equality commitments as enshrined in various international human rights documents including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, CEDAW, the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, EU Equality Directives, and national laws and strategies on gender equality in South East Europe (with particular focus on Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, FYR Macedonia and Republic of Moldova).

Responsibilities

  - Manage the FYR Macedonia component of the GRB regional project and ensure timely implementation of annual work plans
  - Organize planning meetings with relevant parties to develop an annual workplan and corresponding budget plan with clearly stated
    milestones contributing to the achievement of target outputs defined in the project document
  - Provide direction and guidance to country project team, and consultants to ensure the project outputs are achieved
  - Provide technical/expert support to UN Women implementing partners (government and NGOs) as well as consultants and collaborators,
    towards the achievement of intended results
  - Undertake close supervision of the any studies, analysis and consultancies that are commissioned by the project and troubleshoot as
    needed

Requirements

  - Master’s Degree or equivalent gender, social studies or related field. Focus on gender and development or gender and policy development
    would be considered an asset
  - 5 years of experience in coordinating and managing projects
  - A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience of work with International organizations (experience with the UN is an asset)
  - Fluency in Macedonian and English
