Description
The training programme Integrity and Anti-Corruption, taking place in The Hague between 27 October – 7 November 2014, aims to increase understanding of the international anti-corruption framework and related integrity policies. The role of various actors and international instruments in eliminating corruption and promoting the rule of law will be examined and corruption’s relation to international development and human security will be discussed. Moreover, the course also provides insight in the roles and responsibilities of the different actors in promoting integrity in organisations. The seven building blocks of integrity will be discussed, as well as coherence of integrity policies with the overall financial and HR-policy.
The training is designed to broaden your understanding of the complexities of corruption, its root causes, and impact on society. Examples from The Netherlands will be discussed and organisations such as OLAF and GRECO will talk about their work in the field of anti-corruption. In addition, knowledge and skills to develop a sustainable policy for the promotion of integrity will be enhanced. Special attention will be paid to obstacles and dilemma´s in the implementation process and how to overcome them.
Costs
The course fee is € 3.150,-. This includes all training-related costs, as well as drinks, lunches, training materials and travel during the training programme. Travel to and from The Hague and accommodation is not included. The course language is English.
The Netherlands organisation for international cooperation in higher education (NUFFIC) offers the opportunity to apply for a fellowship for this training course, as part of the Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP) for short courses.
Eligibility
Professionals working for municipal, provincial or national government, for a donor organisation or NGO and who are involved in anti-corruption , transparency and accountability processes in relation to development and governance.
