Background

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the ARR(P), the Programme Analyst is responsible for management of parts of the UNDP programme in the area of sustainable development and good governance. The Programme Analyst analyzes political, social and economic trends and leads formulation, management and evaluation of programme activities within his/her portfolio, provides policy advice services.

The Programme Analyst supervises and leads programme support staff, and coordinates activities of projects’ staff. The Programme Analyst works in close collaboration with the operations and Programme Development Support and Monitoring and Evaluation (PDSME) teams, programme staff in other UN Agencies, UNDP HQs staff and Government officials, technical advisors and experts, multi-lateral and bi-lateral donors and civil society ensuring successful UNDP programme implementation


Responsibilities

   - Active participation in formulation and implementation of programme strategies in the field of sustainable development at local level and
     country’s regional and global integration processes
   - Formulation and management of the CO programme in the area of sustainable development at local level
   - Creation of strategic partnerships with Government, civil society and other stakeholders, and advancing resource mobilization
   - Provision of top quality advisory services to the Government and facilitation of knowledge building and management


Requirements

   - Master’s Degree or equivalent in socio-economic development, Public Administrative Reform or related field.
   - Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in the context of international development & cooperation.
   - In-depth knowledge of regional / local-level development aspects in the Serbian context.
   - Proven experience in UN(DP) programme or project cycle.
   - Experience in the fields of employment/livelihoods, sustainable economic development, migration, gender / vulnerable groups would be an
     asset.
   - Excellent, proven communication and drafting skills in English and Serbian.
   - Experience in the use of computers and office software packages and handling of web based management systems.
   - Fluency in English and Serbian language
