Background


Under the direct supervision of the UN Women Representative of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Country Office, overall guidance of the Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia and working in close consultation with the Development Coordinator, the Gender Specialist is responsible for the provision of coordination, programme and technical support on women’s rights and gender equality to the Development Coordinator and the UN Kosovo Team  [UNKT] and  manages and coordinates all aspects of UN Women programming in Kosovo as required, including programme development, management of operational projects, as well as continued monitoring of implementation and reporting.


Responsibilities

   - Provision of top quality advisory and programme development services
   - Coordination, Programme and Technical support
   - Management of programme and supervision of the Programme team
   - Strategic partnerships and resource mobilization support
   - Advocacy support and knowledge building and management


Requirements

   - Masters Degree in Economics, Political Sciences, Social Sciences or related field
   - 5 years relevant experience in Kosovo or at the international level working with development projects providing management advisory
     services, hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects and establishing inter-relationships among
     international organizations and national governments, specifically in the field of gender and human rights  of women.
   - Prior experience in the UN System and the region will be an asset
   - Fluency in English, Albanian and Serbian
   - Ability to lead formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development programmes and projects and mobilize resources
   - Ability to lead strategic planning, results-based management and reporting
   - Ability to formulate and manage budgets, manage contributions and investments, manage transactions, conduct financial analysis,
     reporting and cost-recovery
   - Ability to implement new systems and effect staff behavioral/attitudinal change
   - Builds strong relationships with clients, focuses on impact and results for the client and responds positively to feedback
