Description

Grassroots Economics: Meaning, Project And Practice In The Pursuit Of Livelihood (GRECO) project based at the University of Barcelona, is recruiting 7 PhD students or early career researchers.

The project proposes a bottom-up approach to economic dynamics and conceptual frameworks. It is dedicated to give theoretical value to non-academic logics that guide economic practice and to explain their significance for understanding practices that have an effect in the large scale economy. The research addresses the social, cultural and political environments in which common people make everyday economic decisions. It investigates the interaction between individuals, households and institutions.

PhD Students/Researchers will conduct ethnographic research in Portugal (2 positions), Italy (2 positions), Greece (2 positions) or Spain (1 position). They are expected to complete their PhD by the end of the Grant (4 years) or, in the case of non-degree seeking researchers, publish several papers in refereed indexed journals. They will take an active role participating in scholarly activities related to the project.
