Description


The Association “PRAVNIK” together with the partner organization Konrad Adenauer Stiftung will be offering the 2014 International Summer School Sarajevo course on “Lessons from former Yugoslavia for global peace and security.”

International Summer School Sarajevo (ISSS) attracts a truly unique group of young people every year and they all come to Sarajevo to share their experiences. Each year 30 participants from all corners of the world and some 20 countries meet during the ISSS and we aim to provide them with a platform for future networking. ISSS doesn’t only aim to attract current students but also recent graduates and young professionals working on human rights, rule of law and transitional justice in order to blend their unique experiences.


Eligibility

The program encourages applications from graduate and PhD students of law and related disciplines under the age of 35; including a limited number of undergraduate students from the Balkans, the rest of Europe and the United States of America.

There are three main criteria which will be taken into consideration in the evaluation process:

   - The program encourages applications from law and political science undergraduate final year students and post graduate students. Basic
     knowledge and commitment to take part in academic discussions on Rule of Law, Human Rights and Transitional Justice concept is
     required.
   - The language of instruction is English; thus all applicants have to demonstrate a strong command of spoken and written English to be able
     to participate actively in discussions at lectures and workshops.
   - The association Pravnik recognizes the involvement in CSO (Civil Society Organizations) as an important sign that proves commitment
     toward democratic development of any society. Thus experience in CSO sector brings an added value to every application.


Cost

The participation fee is 200€, but students from Albania, Bosnia and Herzgovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Moldova, and Serbia are eligible to apply for a participation fee reduction of 50%.

The participation fee includes accommodation, meals and working materials. Travel costs are not covered by this fee and each participant should take care of personal travel arrangements.
