OSCE MISSION TO SKOPJE/ SENIOR RULE OF LAW OFFICER/JUDICIAL REFORM (VACANCY NUMBER: VNSKPS00408)

Responsibilities

   - Monitors criminal, civil or administrative law cases, including those conducted in the Serbian language and those involving persons and
     communities that suffer from an access to justice deficit;
   - Reports on a weekly basis on systematic human rights violations and other legal issues observed through monitoring the justice sector in
     municipalities where communities that suffer from an access to justice deficit are present;
   - Assists in drafting reports by providing statistical information and legal analysis of human rights violations in the areas of concern;
   - Maintains professional contacts with legal professionals within the justice system;
   - Performs other duties as required.


Requirements

   - University education in law or significant work experience in criminal justice and/or law enforcement (the latter required for police
     corrections officer training)
   - Experience in the practice of law, e.g. judges, prosecutors, lawyers, etc.
   - Knowledge of courtroom proceedings and criminal law and procedure
   - Knowledge of international legal procedure standards and instruments
   - Demonstrable organizational, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
   - Sound knowledge of relevant European Conventions, their application and enforcement machinery, and an understanding of other
     relevant international instruments
   - Good management and negotiating skills
   - Ability to operate windows applications, including word processing and e-mail
   - Professional fluency in the English language
   - Significant work experience in criminal justice
